Tile Roof FAQs

Tile roofs are versatile and can perform well in various climates. They are especially ideal for hot and sunny climates, as they reflect sunlight and have natural thermal insulation properties. However, they can also withstand cold and wet conditions when properly installed.
Tile roofing materials can be heavier than some other options, so it’s essential to ensure your home’s structure can support the weight. Many homes are built with the necessary support for tile roofs, but it’s crucial to have an inspection to assess your specific situation.

I don’t like doing things like this but here goes…… we used Fitz Roofing in December 2020 to replace the roof on our house. As you all know thats not cheap. Well we haven’t had to contact them for anything until now. We have a few shingles lifted, issues with the flashing, and our roof was never certified through windstorm, not sure how that got past me and my insurance company, but it did. My main concern is the certification. We have tried to contact them through several phone calls, Facebook, their website, emails, and even left voicemails on the owners phone, been doing this since last week. I even tried to schedule an appointment through online booking. Someone on the Fitz Roofing team text me, I called the number no answer, then I texted the number with a message stating what I needed- no response! This is no way to run a business. I understand things happen and slip through the cracks but own up to your mistake and take care of it, don’t avoid the customer. Maybe they’ll get my message now. 😊

Ver interesting interactions with this company. Called bc they put a roof on a house(in 2020) I purchased. 4 years into a supposed 5 year warranty. Called asked them to come out. They explained that I should’ve called to transfer the warranty when the home was purchased, they wouldn’t cover anything that was “an act of God” unless something like the flashing was wrong. said okay, understood, regardless id like to see what the original roofers have to say about this leak I have in my roof since they were the ones doing it. Had a gentleman from Tennessee office come. Never once shook my hand, never even greeted me, very unprofessional. He told me the flashing was improperly installed (something that the office lady said would be covered under the warranty) Verbally quoted me something for that repair and a few other concerns he had. I asked him for a written quote. He said he’d get it to me by the end of the day. Never came. Weeks passed. I called the office was told that roofer was hospitalized and another guy was taking over his clients. STILL NO CALL. These folks are probably those insurance chasers that’ll change roofs for that money and do a horrible job doing so. I could’ve been an easy job, was willing to pay for the work done. RUN. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. A roof that has issues in 4 years means shady work and even shadier customer service.

Very happy with the service and communication this company provided when I needed my roof replaced. We didn’t think we would need our roof replaced this year but when hurricane Beryl revealed how aged our roof was, Fitz Roofing made a stressful experience almost painless. If they ever branch into other areas of home improvement, I’ll be the first one on the phone to book them.

Learn from my mistake do not give these guys money up front. You will have a tough time getting them to finish off your project. It was like pulling teeth to get these guys install a roof. At that, they never completed the work as promised by their estimator. Have them detail and itemize the work in writing!Delay after delay with no heads-up! Their explanation was, "rain events prevented our start date." It was like pulling teeth to get the owner to call me as well. The owner was argumentative explaining he was not going to put his workers in jeopardy by having them work in a wet environment. However, communication was nonexistent after taking the deposit. No reschedule date communicated, No concern about rain communicated, No give us a some more time... Nothing but Crickets!...Their proposal is vague and misleading. Pay attention to their proposal. Again, ensure everything their sales guy mentions is added and itemized on the quote. Make them put it all in writing and with an itemized cost! I can't stress that enough. The owner will deny ever agreeing to certain repairs if it is not in the "contract." Here is the kicker. They never provide you with a contract, but simply a vague proposal. This, I think, is intentional by the roofing company to argue you out of what was agreed upon. They came highly recommended and was hoping the quality of their work would make up for their lack of customer service. I was very wrong their too. I believe they promote a superior shingle but their roofers are not true craftsmen. See the photos I added and go ask a seasoned roofer yourself. Don't take my word for it…On top of that, the roofers that repaired my roof were subcontractors. None of the roofers were wearing uniforms. They could care less about whether your home needs a quality roof. It is my impression that this company has gotten into the mode of "selling and collecting" instead of providing a quality product to an unsuspecting homeowner. Be cautious... I am usually very patient with builders but this company is not looking out for your best interest.
